In the science world, my experience lies mainly in tissue engineering – I spent a year during medical school working to develop scaffolding technology for umbilical cord blood stem cells to form bone / microvasculature. In the entrepreneurial world, my expertise is in the area of technology transfer. I’m the founder of Invented Magazine – a digital magazine in Apple’s App Store about tech and medicine entrepreneurship, and I hold a business M.S. in Innovation Management.
Dr. Bruno Sainz
Ramón y Cajal Researcher, Autónoma University of Madrid (UAM)
Dr. Bruno Sainz is a Ramón y Cajal Researcher, with co-appointments in the Department of Biochemistry at the Autónoma University of Madrid (UAM), the Department of Cancer Biology at the Instituto de Investigaciones Biomédicas (IIB) “Alberto Sols” CSIC-UAM and in the Chronic Diseases and Cancer Area of the Ramón y Cajal Institute for Health Research (IRYCIS). Dr. Sainz obtained his PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, USA in 2005, and began working on cancer in 2011 after joining the Spanish National Cancer Research Centre (CNIO) as a Staff Scientist. He currently heads the Cancer Stem Cells and Tumor Microenvironment group, which focuses on the study of cancer stem cells (CSCs) and the fibroinflammatory microenvironment in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), the 4th leading cause of cancer related deaths in developed countries.

Dr. Jin Yan

Dr. Jin Yan is a medical doctor who has worked in the pharma industry as a medical scientific liaison, medical advisor and clinical research clinician, roles in which she was involved both in the development of business strategies and in scientific advisory.
Dr. Yan’s expertise comprises pharmaceuticals, clinical medicine, patient engagement, neuroscience, chronic pain, product life cycle management and marketing strategy.
Dr. Christoph Mauer
Physician, Department of Anaesthesiology, University Hospital Erlangen
Dr. Christoph Mauer has broad experience in intensive care medicine, especially perioperative and neurocritical care, and emergency medicine, both in and out of hospital. His interests in these fields are human factors, academic and non-academic teaching and epidemiology of critical care.
Christoph volunteered several years for a rescue organization with a main focus on conception and execution of education and youth work, both on local and on national level. In this context, he is passionate about in intra- and intergroup development and problem solving methods.
Henning Koch, MPH
Master of Public Health, Researcher in Health Services, Public Funding
Henning is a health services researcher by training and holds a master degree in Public Health. He truly believes in the digitalisation in healthcare. During his studies he specialized in innovative forms of care, especially in telemedicine for patients with heart failure. He gained experience in business development in an eHealth-startup, worked as a consultant in healthcare and is an expert in public funding.
In the last couple of years, Henning got vast insights in the Berlin digital health startup-scene. He held positions at Berlin Partner and ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg. He benefits from a huge network of healthcare specialists, investors, scientists, entrepreneurs and insurance companies.
