Karl is a healthcare advisor, medical doctor & PhD with clinical experience in internal medicine and pathology. He has broad experience in basic, clinical and translational research. Karl led the Translational Research Lab at the Institute for Surgical Research (University of Marburg, Germany) and conducted international research projects in basic and clinical research. He was the first non-clinical researcher to join the distinguished mentorship programme “Pancreas 2000”, initiated by the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden.
Enthusiastic about healthcare innovation, he founded Quint Healthcare together with his team of distinguished partners. He strives to find solutions to problems before they become obvious and loves to work with companies offering disruptive new medical technologies. Karl is in charge of business development, strategy and investor relations. He is a passionate photographer and gets a kick from drone flying, after having founded two companies in this area.
Dr. Roberta Montalbano
Life Science & Southern European Client Relations
Roberta is a biologist and PhD in cancer biology. She has extensive research experience in the origin and progression of cancer, which she has employed in drug discovery and development.
Roberta has vast experience in state of the art in vitro and in vivo techniques, as well as in clinical and surgical research. She loves to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary teams and translate findings into medical practice and meaningful health outcomes. She has gained professional and international cultural experience in various academic institutions in Italy and Germany and is actively publishing in leading international journals.
At Quint Healthcare, Roberta focuses on life science and Southern European client relations. She lives in Italy and likes outdoor activities, playing with her daughter and solving jigsaw puzzles.
Product Manager and Lean Startup Evangelist, Scrum Product Owner, IT guy and Entrepreneur
After finishing his university degree in electrical- and information engineering, Markus founded his first company ‘Netdosis’ in 2012. Together with the Department of Pediatrics at the University Hospital Erlangen, he developed the first structured input for medication data in Germany and built the first structured database for off-label-use in pediatrics. After a company asset sale in 2013, he began working as a product management consultant coaching established companies and startups in the domains of medical IT and banking. Markus has worked on web software, smartphone apps, and physical med-tech products.
At Quint Healthcare Markus strives to bring Lean Startup ideas, entrepreneurship, and sustainable innovation to the enterprise. This includes rapid idea generation, customer testing, and business case validation. He is an experienced Scrum Product Owner and enjoys interfacing between IT developers and company stakeholders.
In his free time Markus enjoys playing in an indie rock band, developing various side-projects and traveling the world.
